The Zimmer Group GEP2000 series is a compact, electrically actuated 2-jaw parallel gripper designed for small-parts handling where a large stroke is required within a minimal installation footprint. It is driven by a wear-resistant brushless DC motor coupled to a helical worm gear that provides inherent mechanical self-locking in the event of power loss, with jaw synchronization via rack and pinion. Control is selectable between standard digital I/O (for simple open/close operation) and IO-Link (for continuous jaw positioning, force-level adjustment across four stages, and automatic part detection with tolerance monitoring). The series achieves up to 10 million maintenance-free cycles and carries ISO 14644-1 Class 2 cleanroom certification, making it suitable for electronics, pharmaceutical, and precision assembly applications.
